License and Metering

How do I manage my license and track usage in Timeplus Enterprise?

During your 30-day free trial of Timeplus Enterprise, there are no restrictions on daily data ingestion volume. Once the trial period ends, a license must be purchased to continue using Timeplus Enterprise.

Upon purchasing a license tailored to your business requirements, a specific daily ingestion volume limit is set, such as 20 GB/day or 100 GB/day.

The following count towards your daily ingestion volume:

  • Utilizing External Streams to retrieve data from Apache Kafka or other Kafka-compatible messaging platforms
  • Executing `INSERT INTO` SQL commands to add data to streams
  • Using the Ingestion REST API.

It is important to note that only the raw data scanned is metered when querying external streams created for Kafka API. Data ingestion is not counted when external streams are not being queried, and querying materialized views or internal/target streams does not contribute to daily ingestion volumes. The intermediate streams in your data pipelines won't be charged.

Timeplus Enterprise tracks the raw data size, considering data added to streams may exist in both streaming and historical storage but is only counted once towards daily ingestion volume. The actual data size for the stream does not directly impact daily ingestion volume, as data at rest is compressed or managed with temporary data segment files for merging.
